Group PMX provided Owner’s Representative services for the construction of NYU Winthrop Hospital’s new Academic and Research Center. This 125,000 square foot building has five floors above ground and includes:
- Areas for community outreach and administrative functions, a 320 seat auditorium, and meeting and study rooms
- A clinical skills and medical simulation center with clinical spaces for programs serving different patient populations
- Expansion areas for future bench research, wet laboratory space, laboratory support functions, and administrative areas
- A space for clinical/translational research with an open gathering area near the circulation stair which was designed to encourage interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.
In addition to being a state-of-the-art facility, the new building is one of the most sustainable in the area. Research and scientific trials are being conducted for diabetes, cardio metabolic disorders, infant prematurity, perinatal conditions, chronic diseases, and aging.
Group PMX worked collaboratively with the project team including Perkins Eastman (Architect), Lend Lease (Construction Manager), and NYU-WUH Facilities Management and Stakeholders.
