Group PMX served as a consultant during the lease negotiation phase and as an extension of staff to CUIMC’s Capital Project Management Department to manage CUIMC OB/GYN’s new Fertility Center Project. The OB/GYN department, with one of the nation’s leading fertility centers, was looking to improve its operations and conditions for its patients by moving to this new space. This 10,000 SF space on 13th floor of 1790 Broadway had a complete gut renovation to include a state-of-the-art Fertility Lab, MD offices, exam rooms, a conference room, recreational area, nurse stations and recovery areas for patients.
Due to the high sensitivity of operations and lab content (embryos) to contaminants, an environmental consultant specializing in fertility labs, Alpha, was involved in the project to ensure compliance to quality standards and requirements.
The procurement method for the project was Design-Bid-Build, which provided control over project costs and ensured that the space is up to the CUIMC standards.
