York Central Plant & Distribution System Replacement

The Central Plant at the York Correctional Institution in Niantic, CT generates hot water and chilled water for distribution to 16 buildings through a network of underground piping.  The scope of this engineering design project includes replacement/renewal of boilers, pumps, cooling towers, chillers, and ancillary equipment within the existing central plant; installation of about 7,000 feet of new underground heating, hot water, and chilled water distribution systems to all buildings across the site; replacement of hot/chilled water distribution equipment in each of the buildings; and installation and integration of BMS controls.

Group PMX, as part of the WSP design team, has provided expert cost estimating services to the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (DAS) for the design phases, and cost management during construction.
