Group PMX is delighted to announce the appointment of Michael Giaramita, CEO, to the esteemed Board of Governors of the New York Building Foundation. After years of dedicated service as a member of the Foundation’s parent organization, the New York Building Congress, he is deeply honored to join the roster of influential figures in the construction and design industry who are leading this non-profit’s efforts.
The New York Building Foundation supports the building industry and the wider community in New York City through research, education, and philanthropy. The non-profit was formed in 1998 by a group of professionals who wanted to improve and coordinate the building community’s approach to promoting the construction industry. The Foundation grants scholarships and funds educational programs for students and adults who are interested in joining the trades, supports training organizations that help people from various backgrounds enter the industry, and conducts research on issues that affect the city’s economic future and built environment. The Foundation also responds to the city’s needs in times of crisis, such as after the 9/11 attacks and Hurricane Sandy. The Foundation is the charitable arm of the New York Building Congress, which is a coalition of business, labor, professional, and government leaders who work together to advance the interests of the building industry.
Michael’s appointment to the Board of Governors not only underscores his steadfast commitment to attracting and supporting individuals interested in pursuing careers in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (A/E/C) industry but also reflects his dedication to strengthening the industry.
