The Hollow neighborhood of South Yonkers is set to witness the realization of the LaMora Senior Housing project, a $44 million development that will bring about the creation of 60 energy-efficient and affordable homes tailored for seniors. Distinguished by its unique approach, this project stands as one of the nation’s pioneering modular housing initiatives to adopt the Passive House model. This model not only emphasizes energy conservation but also fosters self-sufficiency while ensuring resilience against adverse weather conditions.
The construction efforts for this groundbreaking endeavor are a collaborative undertaking between the Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers (MHACY) and the Mulford Corporation, a nonprofit charitable development organization established by MHACY.
