Expansion & Modernization Project
The transformation of JFK Airport’s Terminal 8 marked a significant milestone for American Airlines and British Airways. Collaborating with the Holt Construction team, Group PMX provided essential project and construction management services that resulted in the successful expansion and modernization of the terminal. With a construction budget of $344 million, our expertise contributed to realizing a cutting-edge global hub.

Meticulous Management and Coordination
The project’s scope encompassed the addition of 70,400 SF, including 33,000 SF of public space, and the refurbishment of 57,500 SF. Furthermore, Group PMX managed the intricate construction of a three-story 60-ft. bump-out structure, complete with new hold rooms, support areas, and two jetways. A prime focus was the electrical medium voltage substation and distribution, where our meticulous coordination streamlined installation.

The terminal’s enhancements, including premium lounges, advanced baggage systems, and expanded gate capacity, elevate the customer experience. Thanks to our collaborative efforts, the terminal now offers increased connectivity, convenience, and efficiency, enabling smoother connections for passengers.
