Investing in Higher Learning
Lehman College is supporting its esteemed nursing program by constructing a new, state-of-the-art Nursing Education, Research, and Practice Center (NERPC). The $75 million, 52,000 SF building will include classrooms, teaching and research laboratories, faculty offices, and support spaces.

Funded by New York State through the CUNY Capital Improvement Program, the New York City Council, and the Bronx Borough President’s Office, the new 3-story building is located on the campus mall on the site of a former bookstore.

Project Management Services
As a crucial member of the Construction Management as Agent team, Group PMX provides project management services to maintain the project’s smooth progress. Our efforts have included coordinating asbestos abatement with the CM during the demolition of the existing bookstore.

Classrooms and Student Commons
The center is designed to promote collaboration, and casual gathering areas will support learning beyond the classroom. Several student lounges with vending machines and data connections for small group gatherings support this social environment. In addition, 30 classrooms are included in the program, many of which are designed to be SMART classrooms and deploy the cutting-edge AV required for interactive learning.

State-of-the-Art Laboratories
A nursing simulation lab, the facility’s centerpiece, will emulate a clinical environment where students will train for real-world situations involving pediatrics, labor and delivery, intensive care, and trauma procedures on high-tech simulated patients remotely monitored by faculty. Additional laboratory facilities include teaching and research labs.
