Group PMX collaborates closely with Mount Sinai South Nassau’s (MSSN) Design, Development, and Construction Department, functioning as an integral extension of their team. Our primary focus revolves around overseeing the hospital’s ambitious $400 million major capital improvement program, with a particular emphasis on managing the construction of the J-Wing. This four-story addition, generously supported by a FEMA Public Assistance Program grant, is set to transform the MSSN Oceanside campus.
The J-Wing project, valued at $138 million, represents a monumental leap forward for healthcare in the region. It entails nearly doubling the emergency department’s size, introducing nine cutting-edge operating rooms (including two hybrid ORs), providing 40 state-of-the-art critical care patient rooms, expanding ambulance bays, enhancing visibility for medical professionals, upgrading waiting areas, and incorporating a crucial mechanical penthouse. This expansion will significantly increase patient access to specialized care, elevate the overall patient experience, and effectively address the anticipated medical demands of Nassau County’s South Shore.
“Our team has been solutions-oriented in every phase of this project. One standout moment of innovation was the design and implementation of a custom-shaped loading dock structure. This inventive solution allowed uninterrupted deliveries to the hospital, even as site work continued, showcasing our team’s ability to think creatively and adapt.”
