Securing Hudson River Park’s Resiliency
Functioning as an augmentation of Skanska’s staff, Group PMX delivered owner’s representative solutions for the Hudson River Park Trust’s (HRPT) Morton Street Bulkhead Restoration Project. HRPT’s objective was the restoration of the Morton Street Bulkhead, a two-decade-old structure situated along the Hudson River Park between Morton Street and Christopher Street, constituting one of the park’s initial phases. The passage of time had led to the degradation of the bulkhead, necessitating a comprehensive replacement.
Substantial Structural Demands
The undertaking encompassed the installation of tie-backs and piles to ensure the stability of the new bulkhead’s structure. Given the substantial structural demands of the replacement bulkhead, the contiguous upland park area required demolition and subsequent reconstruction. Group PMX undertook a spectrum of tasks, including pre-construction activities, the bidding and award process, project initiation, construction efforts, and post-construction responsibilities, all essential for the successful culmination of the project.
